Jesse's Triathlon Crusade

Life is full of challenges and I've embarked on a big one!!!

On April the 27th, I will be participating in the St. Anthony's Triathlon as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma's Society Team in Training. This ain't just any triathlon but an Olympic distance triathlon...in other words..."A BIG ONE!"

My inspiration to do this comes from the many patients that I've cared for over the years as a nurse on the adult leukemia unit at M.D Anderson Cancer Center. My challenge is a meager one compared to the daily battle these patients face in there fight against leukemia.

On April 27, I will be running in honor of Marie Margason, Michelle Stickney and all the patients who have crossed my path over the years.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program is the world's largest endurance sports training program. In exchange for training & support, we'll be raising funds that go toward research, advocacy, patient services & public awareness. Of the money we raise, more than 76% goes to the cause. The rest goes toward our coaching, training and travel.
Did you know...

* An estimated 106,700 people in the United States will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma in 2003?

* Every nine minutes, another child or adult is expected to die from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma?

* Leukemia and lymphoma are the leading fatal cancers in young men under age 39?

I NEED YOUR HELP!! I have committed to raising $4,800 for the cause and your donation can help me reach my goal.

Please take a minute to donate. Any amount, big or small, will put me one step closer to my goal.

Please forward this to your friends and family.

Thanks a million!!!

PS. If you're interested in joining our group, let me know and I'll hook you up.
